Potentially Useful Info:
• Assignments with "homework" in the name are online assignments submitted through bigideasmath.com
• Assignments called "worksheet" or "practice test" were paper assignments.
There is a link to a PDF of each paper assignment in the assignment description.
(click "view" next to the assignment in powerschool)
• There is a process students can go through to retake tests!
They will need to do corrections on their original test first.
If they were absent when I passed them back, they just need to ask me for their test.
They can do the corrections at home or at school and may use whatever help or resources they want.

About Mrs. de Jager (a proud nerd):
I graduated from Timpview some time ago and am thrilled to be a thunderbird once again! I enjoy teaching and I absolutely LOVE math because it is beautifully logical and incredibly interesting! Math teaches you not just how to use specific formulas or processes but how to think and how to solve problems--skills that are incredibly valuable in this world. Math can be found everywhere around us, many times in places you wouldn't expect. It's truly incredible! :D I LOVE rock climbing and I also enjoy playing video games (especially puzzle games), reading, and making things! Some other things that make me happy: Cute things, anime & manga, Japan, math, mountains, and beautifully organized things. |

“Struggling in mathematics is not the enemy, any more than sweating is the enemy in basketball; it is part of the process, and a clear sign of being in the game. Math asks our students to think in ways they are not used to thinking; they will be asked to look at the obvious in ways they’re not accustomed to, and then we’ll ask them to explore the not-so-obvious in similar ways. A rigor of thinking and a clarity of expression is demanded that will stretch them beyond familiar styles. It will also require an honest pursuit; there really are no shortcuts.”
